The nenmara vela starts from mandam or vela mandam & vallangi from siva temple.There will be 10- 15 elephants each for two groups .These elephants are decorated and along with the percussion instruments , they are paraded through the nenmara town.In the evening , these groups reach Nellikulangara temple.There is a vast area of empty rice fields , enough to accomodate a large crowd.
